Three new cestode genera and new species from birds of Karachi, Pakistan.

Abstract:
Three new cestode genera Copsulana, Reticulatea ( Dilepididae; Dilepidinae) and Lakin (Anoplocephalidae; Anoplocephalinae) have been described, each based on single new species Capsulana daleri, Reticulatea johril and Laigia splendens, from house sparrow (Passer doniesticus indicus), Indian myna (Acridotheres tristis tristis) a n d house crow (Corvus splendens zugrnayeri), respectively. The genus Capsulana is characterised by possessing rostellum not protrusible with a single crown of hooks, testes not numerous, being internal and posterior to female glands, small cirrus pouch, unilateral genital pores, ovary bilobed, uterus broken up into egg capsules, each containing 2-5 eggs and by the absence of receptaculum seminis. -Reticulat-ea, new genus is differntiated by having scolox with a proturusible rostellum, testes numerous, scattered on both lateral sides of the female glands, ovary large, with many lobes, uterus reticulate and by the presence of receptaculum seminis. The new genus /Akita i s characterised by possessing an elongated scolox with four suckers, testes being lateral and posterior to female glands, ovary being many lobed and by the presence of receptaculum seminis.
