Abstract:
N-bromosuccinimide was studied polarographically on platinum electrode in solutions containing 1 M potassium nitrate and 0.8 M sodium perchlorate electrolytes in water and in glacial acetic acid respectively. These solutions were unbuffered. Steady-state voltammetric measurements indicate that the diffusion current of N-bromosuccinimide at -2 V against quasireference electrode was proportional to its concentration from 1x10-2 M to 8x10-2 M in potassium nitrate solution and 2x10-2 M to 1.7x10-1 M in glacial acetic acid. Moreover diffusion current of N-bromoruccinintide increases with the increase in the pH values of the solution.
