Abstract:
Presently there are two extension systems prevailing in the Punjab province. The top-down extension system (TDES) is run by the public sector where as, the participatory extension system is run by the Non-Governmental Organisation i.e. PRSP. Among 34 districts of the Punjab province Faisalabad district was taken as sample district through simple random sampling technique from the Punjab province where both the systems are prevailing. A simple random sample of 399 contact farmers from the Faisalabad district was taken in order to get their perceptions regarding the participatory extension systems in the Faisalabad district, Punjab Province. It was found after in-depth analysis that farmers perceived participatory extension system as having more strengths than weaknesses.
