Abstract:
The harmonic constituents and the tidal regime at five stations (Port Said, Kantra, Defersoir, Gineva and Port Tawfik) along the Suez Canal are studied in detail through the period 1982 to 1985. Moreover, the harmonic constituents at other five stations (Ras-El-Eish, El-Tina, Temsah, Kabrit and Shallufa) are calculated from one month data of sea level within the period of investigation. The result showed that the mean spring range is maximum at Port Tawfik (131.4 cm) and minimum at Temsah (13.8 cm), while it is about 33.5 cm at Port Said. The mean neap range at Port Tawfik is 73.16 cm while it is 8.9 cm at Port Said. Also there is time lag (about 6 hours) in occurrence the high water at the two ends of the Suez Canal and that at the central part of the canal.
