Abstract:
The developing countries are finding it difficult to balance their development activities with the environmental protection. Specific conditions of the developing countries require that the approach to water quality management should be different from developed countries. Nonetheless, the technological approach towards water quality management is fundamental and is applicable anywhere, provided due consideration is given to local conditions. An outline of a process has been developed. This process encompasses different phases of water quality management in the context of developing countries. Appropriate measures under each phase of the process have been suggested.
