Abstract:
The haemagglutination inhibition (HI) antibody titre of birds inoculated with live Mukteswar vaccine was compared with that of inactivated Newcastle disease vaccine in oil adjuvant. The HI antibody titre of chicks inoculated with Mukteswar vaccine increased from 1:10.6 to 1:55.7 during the first 5 weeks postvaccination, followed by a gradual decrease to 1:18.4 during the next 3 weeks. The HI antibody titre of the group vaccinated with oil-emulsion inactivated Newcastle disease vaccine increased from 1:2 to 1:36.8 during the first 4 weeks postvaccination and then gradually declined to 1:13.9 during the next 4 weeks. The HI antibody titre of unvaccinated control group decreased gradually from 4.6 at first week,.4.0 at second week, 3.0 at third week, 2.6 at fourth week, 2.6 at fifth week, 2.0 at sixth week, 1.5 at seventh week to 0 at eight week posthatching.
