Abstract:
Three cases of vertical hydrocephalus are described. They have been treated by Ventriculoperitoneal Shunt and results of management are reviewed. The author is unaware of any description of this condition in medical literature. In_fact the term "Vertical Hydrocephalus" has been coined by the author himself to describe the condition. There is a definite geographical distribution as all the three cases were brought from remote areas of Kashmir. The three children with "Vertical Hydrocephalus" were seen at the Lahore Neurosurgical Centre between May, 1975 and April, 1978.
