A new cestode Cotumiana elongatum N. Gen., N. SP. (Anoploephalidae) from Coturnix coromandelica from Karachi, Pakistan.

Abstract:
A new cestode genus Coturniana and species Cotumiana elongatum recovered from the small intestine of Cotumix coromandelica has been described. The new genus is characterized by having typical uterus consisting of a small anterior transverse and posterion convoluted elongated portion in mature segment and in gravid it remains as an oval elongated sac, testes numerous, bibbed ovary, absence of receptaculum seminis and vitelline gland in between the lobs of the ovary.
