Abstract:
The Kussak Formation exposed at Ludwa hills overlies the Khewra Sandstone, disconformably. The Formation is conformably overlain by the Jutana Dolomite. The Kussak Formation consists of thinly bedded sandstones, siltstone, silty shales, high fossiliferous shales, mudstones, silty-sandy dolomites to limestones, sandstones and a band of pisolitic/stromatolitic limestone. The formation as shown is 68.28m thick and consists of 39 major beds and 231 micro beds. The average percentage of shale is 45.37%, sandstone is 46.28% and carbonate is 8.33%. The average clastic ratio is 10.99.
