Abstract:
An experimental investigation was undertaken to study the suitability of Blast Furnace Slag from Pakistan Steel Mills as coarse aggregate as well as fine aggregate in road construction. Boulders and granulates were used and tested to assess mechanical properties as well as chemical stability of the slag. Deformation characteristics of slag-asphalt mixtures were also studied in Marshall Test. From the study, it was revealed that the slag from Pakistan Steel Mills can be affectively used as an alternative in place of conventional aggregates.
