Abstract:
Dead fallen leaves of bakain (Melia azedarach L. ) castor (Ricinus communis L. ) and neem (Azadirachta indica A. Juss. ) significantly suppressed the development of root-knot caused by Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid & White) Chitwood and populations of other plant- parasitic nematodes. Leaves of neem were found more effective than castor and bakain. Root-knot development and nematode population densities decreased, and growth responses of tomato and chilli increased with increasing doses of additives.
