Abstract:
Determination of plant moisture, total ashes and plant silica contents of five rice cultivars were made and their correlation with stem borer (Tryporyza sp.) infestation was studied. The changes in plant moisture were positively correlated to infestation as against the changes in silica contents which were negatively correlated to it. The correlation of the changes in total ashes was, however, non-significant. The combined influence of these estimates on borer-infestation was 87.55 percent.
