Abstract:
A new species Polyplax humae is described from rattus (Rattus) blanfordi from Malir City (Karachi), Pakistan and is characterized by a combination of the following characters: antennae strongly sexually dimorphic, thoracic sternal plate large, anteromedian margin slightly projected; paratergites III to VI subtriangular with only dorsoposterior angle produced into a small tooth-like process; dorsal setae of paratergite IV longer than plate; dorsal setae of paratergite VII about twice the length of ventral setae; pseudopenis half of the length of basal plate; parameres one-third of the length of pseudopenis, placed laterally to the base of pseudopenis; psuedopenis directly articulated to medioapex of basal plate.
