Abstract:
Evaluation of five promising mutants of wheat (Triticum aestivum L. ) WM-89-1, WM-56-1-2, WM-6-17, WM-81-2 and Wm-120-3 alongwith a standard commercial variety, Pak-81 as check, was done at NI FA during Rabi, 1984-85 to study their genetic potential and response to different levels of N-P. The N-P combinations used were 0-0, 95- 35, 115-45, 135-55, 155-65, 175-75 and 195-85 kg/ha. Mutant lines WM-89-1 and WM-81-2 produced greater number of grains/spike, higher grain weight, higher grain yield and harvest index values than the rest of the mutants and check. The combined application of N and P produced the highest grain yield at the dose rate of 135-55.
